I really miss Elmer's at Delta Park and I'm really glad there's one still here.
And it's exactly how I remember it.
It's hard to explain but there's something that is just so Pacific Northwest about the place.
It literally makes you believe you went back in time where everything is just great.
The conversation across the table from me was a religious one and this was on a Friday by the way.
So many good people on the inside and let me tell you the service was absolutely wonderful exactly how I remember it.
They only complaint that I could possibly make is that the booth that I sat and had a little bit of "Large Marge" Trucker Tookus 😄.
As I walked in there was a basketball player in the parking lot who was scoping out an open car, so be weary of that.
You know sometimes the timing of me just kind of walking someplace and seeing things is really kind of surreal or serendipitous.
I did alert the stuff inside and I think they took care of it, but there's really not much they can do about the outside.
The food absolutely was made exactly how I wanted it I like my hash browns crispy and they made it exactly that way..
The eggs benedict was absolutely fantastic.
I ordered the avocado and tomato Benedict with a side of gravy that also complemented the breakfast nicely.
They also have a wide selection of hot sauces and condiments and everything was perfectly clean on the ketchup as well. ( pet peeve of mine admittedly )
What sets Elmer's apart is the atmosphere, and it's lovely on the inside.
There was also a birthday party going on so yeah it was a great time 😊.
Oh and the busboys are on top of their game in the tables are absolutely clean and nothing was sticky or dirty at all.
The utensils could have been at a higher caliber, but these are small quibbles.
Overall , highly recommended for anyone seeking a warm inviting family breakfast with German excellence with a PNW feel.

Elmer's in SE Portland has been a staple in the community for as long as I can remember. I recently decided to stop by with the kids, hoping to grab a plate of Prime Rib. Unfortunately, it was already sold out, so I opted for a Reuben with fries and a cup of chowder instead.
The Reuben was very flavorful, but I was a bit disappointed that the bottom slice of bread was extremely soggy by the time it was served. Despite not being made in-house, the chowder was quite good.
For the kids, my son chose the Mac and cheese (Kraft), and my daughter went for the burger sliders. They both cleaned their plates, so it must have been pretty good. They were especially thrilled with the superhero masks that came with the menu and even wore them to sleep, so that was a definite win.
The service was friendly, quick, and attentive, just as good as I remember. Overall, Elmer's remains a reliable spot for a family meal in SE Portland.

I had the Cinnamon Roll Panckes and the Hashbrowns w the Works. Those pancakes are addictive! The cinnamon swirl is perfectly caramelized and the icing was put on w a deft touch that didn't overwhelm with sweetness. And those hashbrowns... they were the perfect combination of crispy edges and tender potato. I've got 2 full-size pancakes to take back, but got ALL my bang for the buck and then some w this meal.

Had the CFS and it was super good food. Gravy was on point food was hot except potatoes were on the cooler side. Other than that I give it it a 9 out of 10. Now let's talk about the desert. I chose a pancake since the menu says famous. We'll they aren't lying...quite literally the best...and I mean "the" best pancakes I have ever eaten. They get a 10+ out of 10. Will be back again someday. Traveling so was nice to find a great restaurant that serves good comfort food.
